In this tasting, we will discover 7 typical wines from the Lisbon region, each with its own character and style. Some of these wines come from regions that are literally right on our doorstep.
Shaped by the Atlantic Ocean, these wines show freshness, elegance and a strong sense of terroir.
Expect crisp, mineral driven whites with lively acidity. Perfect for lovers of fresh and gastronomic styles. We also explore how some international grape varieties, such as Syrah, get to great performance in this climate, giving wines with structure, balance and depth.
A special highlight is Colares. One of Portugal’s most unique wine regions, located right by the ocean. Here, vines grow in sandy soils and produce wines with a distinctive and unmistakable character.
Fun fact: Colares vineyards are world famous because they are among the very few places where vines still grow on their own rootstocks, rather than being grafted. A rare survival from before phylloxera.
